Jumeirah Coast and the biggest shopping mall in the world

After very little sleep, the very weary travellers were up at 9am for breakfast and a morning tour of Dubai. We had a fabulous guide who took us along the Jumeirah Coast so we could see all the famous architectural landmarks of which Dubai is famous. We visited the Atlantis resort situated on the edge of Palm Island, a man- made canal system and land in the shape of a palm leaf.

It was a very balmy 37 degrees day, so much warmer than the rest of our holiday weather! Every one was keen to jump back into the air conditioned bus. We also stopped at the 7 star rated Burj Al Arab hotel, viewing it from a nearby public beach.

All the rooms are suites with an underwater suite that is like a giant aquarium in your room!

The famous helipad on which Tiger Woods hit golf balls and Federer played tennis.
Next stop, the Burj Khalifa, tallest tower in the world, and the Dubai Mall, biggest shopping centre in the world.
Orchids in pots dot the walkway through the car park of the Dubai Mall

The Dubai Mall has its own massive aquarium.

Exclusive high end brand stores are found at the Dubai Mall like Laduree, from France. We never got the chance to see one of the shops in Paris but found it in Dubai.

The Dubai Fountain outside the Mall shoots jets of water to synchronised music for a very short time.

Metro stations in Dubai are very futuristic as are the trains and monorails.
