Going Gaudi at Parc Guell

We have arrived in Barcelona and first on our itinerary was to visit Gaudi's amazingly designed Parc Guell. Situated to the north of our hotel, Ibis Central, we braved the metro for the first time to meander our way up to the Park. Perched on the top if a hill, the park is a visual splendour with mosaic clad buildings and grotto-like walkways, all combining classical architecture with the curves and natural inspirations of art nouveau. We all had to stop at Gaudi's mosaic dragon like all other tourists to take a photo.

After dinner we wandered up the street to Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's unfinished cathedral, still under construction over 100 years later. At night time it takes on a very eerie atmosphere.
